One of the best ways to get the details about current laws that deal with donations is to check with the both the Internal Revenue Service and the revenue department in your state. In most cases, it is possible to request printed matter that have to do with how much of a break you can get on your taxes for the donations you make to qualified organizations during the calendar year. The brochures will represent the latest in applicable laws, and also often include sample worksheets that help you understand how much you may deduct from your taxes when you file your returns.

Along with printed matter, there are often helpful electronic documents that can be downloaded from both the IRS and the state revenue agency web sites. The electronic copies can be stored on your hard drive, and consulted at will. As a quick way to obtain the resources you need, online documents are among the quickest and the easiest.
